Un cirque plus juste
After Un cirque tout juste, Jani Nuutinen is back with a circus performance on an even smaller scale. Un cirque plus juste is the second performance in State Art Prize winner Jani Nuutinen’s solo trilogy. A series of three solo performances, which moves away from traditional virtuosity towards a smaller-scale, minimalistic performance – closer to the audience.

A match is lit in the darkness of the ring of a tiny circus tent. The light draws a silhouette and dies out. New lights are lit and a string of wonderful objects is revealed to the audience. In Jani Nuutinen’s hands, these objects disappear, are tamed and frighten and hypnotise us. A nostalgic chanson transports the audience back in time – from one surprise to another.

A very intimate and close atmosphere in a small circus tent between one circus artist and a 100+ audience – a play of glances, light, shadow, music and circus.
